KJZZ News – What Better-Than-Expected Federal Jobs Numbers Mean for Arizona
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly report, 916,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy in March.
The combination of increased vaccine distribution, stimulus and federal business support and the easing of COVID-19 restrictions have driven the national unemployment rate down to 6% — two-tenths of a point below February numbers.
In Arizona, hospitality and food service managers are struggling to fill positions as the state resumes its “re-opening” and the state is steeling itself for a boom in tech jobs as chip manufacturers and electric vehicle builders descend upon the region.
The Show spoke with Jim Rounds, president of the Rounds Consulting Group, to parse out these jobs numbers.
