KJZZ News – How Biden’s Federal Coronavirus Relief Package Will Impact Arizona

After three straight days reporting under 1,000 daily cases, the Arizona Department of Health Services added 1,835 new cases along with 60 more deaths to its dashboard March 11.

Hospitalizations, which have continued to drop and are at 4 month low — were up slightly, as was Intensive Care Unit use, now at 86% overall.

More than 2.3 million vaccine doses have now been given out in the state with one-fifth of Arizonans having received at least one shot.

With the new federal coronavirus relief package now awaiting President Joe Biden’s signature, Arizona is expected to receive funding for healthcare, vaccines, education, businesses and cities — not to mention the $1,400 direct payments to taxpayers that could start arriving as early as next week.

To break down what that money will mean to Arizona, The Show spoke with Jim Rounds, an economist and president of Rounds Consulting.
